Handmade traditional pair of dolls wears typical folk costume from Moldova area. They are made of natural materials using ancient traditional techniques (weaving, sewing, and embroidering).

Young couple embodies “uratori” – persons with the goat who go from house to house and carry out the rite. They wear winter folksy clothes; the young man has the traditional hat – “cushma” – on and the girl – the kerchief. Souvenir pair of dolls has special attributes - the bells and the goat. The goat was considered by Romans as an animal that gave signs whether the weather would be nice or bad. The custom personifies the prosperity, wellbeing and good year for the crops and flocks. The performance with the goat began to be considered pagan by the end of XIX-th century but it takes place each New Year Eve nowadays in Romania and Moldova. The neighbor countries of the Balkan region have similar tradition though there are slight differences.

These handmade dolls are quite collectible and enrich either any collection or will be an unusual toy for your children. Also they bring to your home a piece of unknown culture to you. The dolls are a unique gift to your friends and family.
